Daphney Washington, is a skilled, Certified Nurse Midwife and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner offering prenatal and well-woman care, including STI and contraceptive counseling services to women from adolescence through pregnancy and menopause. She has been serving pregnant and postpartum families for over seventeen years. Ms. Washington was born and raised in the Bay Area. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from San Jose State University and her Master of Science from the UCSF in the Certified Nurse Midwife and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner program. Daphney encourages her patients to embrace the mind-body connection and incorporate both traditional medicine and alternative therapies into their plan of care. She believes that tools such as music and dance are essential to maintain good health and wellness throughout a woman’s life. She has worked throughout her career to reduce the disparity in maternal outcomes among different ethnic and socioeconomic groups. Daphney’s outside interests of medicine include African and Brazilian dance, exercising, reading and learning Spanish and Portuguese. She is the mother of two boys and a toy poodle.
