Jeneen A. Lomax is a Certified Nurse Midwife and Adjunct Professor. Her entire nursing career has been focused on the health and betterment of women. Her journey into midwifery began with the birth of her first nephew when Jeneen was only 15 years-old. She experienced an overwhelming since of joy and empowerment witnessing his birth. From that day on, she knew she wanted to empower women to live their best life and have the birth experience they desired. Jeneen obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2001. She worked on the labor and delivery unit for six years before obtaining her Master of Science in Nursing degree with a specialty in Nurse Midwifery from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2009. Her passion has been to care for the underserved population by intentionally working in poor and minority communities. When asked why she stated, “It is humbling and gratifying to provide exceptional care for this population because they are beyond grateful to know someone truly cares for their well being.” She is a current doctoral student at the University of Illinois at Chicago; she anticipates completing her degree in 2018.
